THE TEAM AT JSF have had a long association with CEFAS who has its main offices in Weymouth. Richard Prickett was involved with a long running Dover sole (Solea solea) project in the early 2000's and Mike Webb worked closely with its scientists when collecting live specimens for sea life centres and other institutes. Hugh Wiltshire has also worked closely with its scientists when culturing scallops. CEFAS scientists are assisting JSF in monitoring the project in Portland Port.

Both these universities have expertise in growing sea weed and shellfish and JSF are in discussions with their scientific teams regarding research projects. KMC is a local college interested in working with JSF in training school leavers in aquaculture technology.

• 5G PROJECT WITH WESSEX INTERNET

JSF has recently been selected to participate in a project focusing on remote monitoring of our aquaculture site in Portland Port using 5G technology. Water quality parameters such as temperature, salinity, turbidity etc will be constantly monitored as well as providing a constant surveillance of the site for security purposes.
